HET STEEN WINS THE GRAND PRIX OF THE ERICH MENDELSOHN AWARD 2026
Het Steen in Antwerp has been awarded the Grand Prix of the Erich Mendelsohn Award 2026 for Brick Architecture. The international jury recognised the project’s sensitive continuation of the historic structure and its transformation into a living public place.


NEW PROJECT DE MOT
noAarchitecten together with Solanellas Van Noten Meister and Jan Minne has won the competition for the transformation of the former De Mot office buildings into housing.

LECTURE KANAL – MIES VAN DER ROHE PAVILION
On October 16, Philippe Viérin will present our project KANAL to an international audience of architects at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona. The event is organised by Jansen AG.

TIM ABRAHAMS INTERVIEWS AN FONTEYNE

LAUNCH PUBLIC LECTURE
On September 21, An Fonteyne will give a public lecture on the work of noAarchitecten including our project Kanal. The lecture will be followed by a debate and takes place on the occasion of the opening of the academic year at the Department of Architecture, KULeuven.

ARCHIWEEKENDS URBAN.BRUSSELS – RAUTERPARK
Philippe Vierin will lead a guided tour on June 13 in and around our project Rauterpark on the occasion of the Archiweekends, organised by urban.brussels.



NEW PROJECT NIDELBAD
noAarchitecten together with Vécsey*Schmidt Architekt*innen and Westpol Landschaftsarchitektur has won the competition for the redevelopment of the Nidelbad Areal in Rüschlikon, south of Zürich.

SOFT POWER @ LUXEMBOURG CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURE
The LUCA will host the exhibition ‘Soft Power: The Brussels Way of Making the City’. On view from February 27 to June 6, the exhibition includes the project Kanal.



RAUTERPARK WINS BRUSSELS ARCHITECTURE PRIZE 2025 – SMALL INTERVENTION
Our project Rauterpark has been awarded the Brussels Architecture Prize 2025 – Small Intervention, offering a welcome opportunity to continue the conversations about the public character of our public buildings.



TACKLING TRANSFORMATION
The conversation between An Fonteyne, Ruth Schagemann, Valérie Vermandel and Josiane Schmidt interrogating adaptive reuse in the EU and its de facto capital Brussels has been published on koozArch.

EXHIBITION & LECTURE – NOAARCHITECTEN – 3 X MUSEUM/MUSEO
We’re very proud to announce the opening of the exhibition ‘noAarchitecten – 3 x museum/museo’ that will run in the Galleria del Progetto at the Politecnico di Milano from October 30 until December 22, 2025.

SABATO DESIGN AWARD 2025 FOR KANAL SYSTEM
The KANAL system, a collaboration between Atelier Kanal Architects and OpenStructures to create a furniture collection for the Kanal-Centre Pompidou, has won the first Sabato Award for ‘Best International Product of the Moment’.



LECTURE ADAPTIVE REUSE – CAA ZAGREB
Philippe Viérin will speak in Zagreb on October 6 on the occasion of the release of the bilingual journal Čovjek i prostor/Man and Space, dedicated to the theme of adaptive reuse throughout the work of noAarchitecten.



HOLCIM FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP – BRUSSELS – ETH ZURICH
noAarchitecten is a partnering firm together with &bogdan, Democo Group, 51N4E and Whitewood for the upcoming ETH Zürich-hosted two-week course by the Holcim Foundation on ‘Design Incentives for Change’ that will take place September 1-12 in Brussels.



HET STEEN WINS THE EUROPEAN AWARD AHI 2025 – BUILT HERITAGE CATEGORY
We’re very happy that our project Het Steen was chosen by an international jury as the winner of the biennial European Award AHI for Built Heritage. Congratulations as well to all other winning projects!



PUBLICATION EU MIES AWARDS 2024
As one of the 40 shortlisted projects for the EU Mies Awards 2024, Het Steen is featured among exceptional European architecture in the publication.
